Barrytown

Whilst making my way up the west coast of the south island of New Zealand, I got a lift from a pair of local punk coal miners. Skidding through dirt around blind corners of semi tropical coastal road listening to strange country rock and smoking with these two is something I could never forget. We made it, said goodbye and I got pointed down towards the beach.

I didn't really know where I was but I kept walking until the sun began to go down, and this is where I took this photo. In the morning I carried on and did not see a soul, as odd as it was amazing.

Probably the best thing to pass through my ears this year

My mate Tom, from work.

Tom: My mate bought a loada flares mate, seven grand he spent.

Me: Flares?

Tom: Yeah we're gunna go around scaring people tonight, robbing em'.

Me: Why?

Tom: I dunno, we always get rowdy when we're pilled up (?) (He makes a violent gesture)

Me: What? Are you one of the people that used to chase me around Guildford when I was 14 for having a skateboard?

Tom: Nah, nah....I'm a skater.

Me: OK.

Dream

Binned.

Doughnuts were for starters today, followed by baguettes, cherry Bakewells, cream cakes and finally strawberries. My brilliant, free thinking supervisor Sue is a woman of few words and thoughts. "You get the sack," she told me after I'd asked her if I could box up the untouched food and give it away. Clearly a Debenhams-for-life kinda lady.

Doughnuts

Today I worked seven hours with no breakfast or lunch - which is tough when you live with Mummy and Daddy, believe me. I was denied a break and instead had to throw away handfuls and handfuls of amazing doughnuts. Debenhams have to chuck them or "they lose profit". Really.

"Lindt LINDOR"

The Dogfather effectively ended things a few months ago, I havn't a clue why. Anyway, renewed access to piles of photos and the inspirational coming of spring will see this up and running again I think.

Happy Easter.
